I am a teacher at Benson Primary school near Wallingford. I am organising 2 cultural weeks in order to teach the children more about their own musical culture concentrating on the rich folk traditions of their local area. During these weeks I would like the children to learn about Folk art, music and dance. I feel very strongly that they spend a lot of time learning out the cultures of other countries yet are unaware of their own cultural history and how these traditions are being kept alive in their local area. I am writing to ask if you would be willing to come into school in order to talk to the children, do a short demo or even do a workshop? The dates of the cultural weeks are the week beginning the 14th of November and the week beginning the 28th of November.
